While Geowulf's new song "Hideaway" is about (in their words) "feeling like you’ve been completely transparent with someone only to realize they haven’t truly let you in,” I feel like there's some room for individual interpretation here. The London duo has this unique Beach Pop sound that's so relaxed and comfortable in its own skin, something tells me Geowulf's the ones faking us out. With such confident, and a sound that gives vodka a run for lifting spirits -- while, at the same time, making you feel like you're sunbathing in Positano, Italy -- I'm supposed to believe there's morons out there not letting these guys in? I guess such is life. Some people aren't meant to be won over, and instead pushing over...a cliff. For the rest of us, it's about good people making good music and these guys have nailed that, and succeeded in transporting me on a needed mini four minute and sixteen second vacation.
"Hideaway is off Geowulf's forthcoming debut LP 'Great Big Blue' due out February 17th, 2018 via 37 Adventures. *Marks calendar with a giant red Sharpie heart around the date*
